RE: Upper ball joint Won't go back in!!!
Well, let it sit for a little bit. Work the nut back and forth (tighter and untighten), back and forth, back and forth. When I replaced my outer tie rod (very similar to the upper ball joint, but not in functionality) the nut would make the whole bolt rotate and wouldn't thread all the way. So, I have to wiggle it tighter and untighten FOREVER! Until finally it stopped spinning and screwed on all the way.

RE: Upper ball joint Won't go back in!!!
Wahhahaha... I fond out that im a moron and it is the actual upper tie-rod. I named it wrong. I had the same problem you did, it was spinning and wouldn't seat properly until it was mostly all the way in so it could grip the seat and let me get passed the minor threading issue. So I decided to try a little wrap around the bolt (where it seats) with electrical tape and jammed it in there.. The friction from spinning heated up the tape and acted as an adhesive and finally sat all the way in there. I could actually tear the electrical tape out afterwards because it was just flakey from the heat.. YEA BABY.. Inginuity... ---
So I came into update and grap a cup of ramen. I'm going to finish puttig in the brake system, put some fluid in that bad boy, put in the battery, charge er up and fire this baby.... WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ------------ Bck in a flsh! (yes i'm bleeding the brake system andputting in colant, i just got excited there :P)

W/E dood. Dont bash. I'm a b/y mechanic my terms are loopy. I take stuff apart and figure out the problem later. :| ------- So I got all the brakes and rotors and calipers and lines and cvs and suspension back together... I got oil in it, oil in the trans, ummmm need to attach exhaust manifold to exhaust and minor exhaust brackets. I also need to wait on someone to get here and help me bleed the brakes. After all that's done, I'll put some coolant in, charge up the battery, take it off stands, roll her outside and attempt the first crank. -------- Stay tuned! I'll probably be back tomorrow with my tail tucked asking why the truck my car won't start. [>:]

The battery may take some time to charge fully so you might want to start that now.
Also remember to bleed the brakes in the proper sequence (see picture), and also to bleed the cooling system (see picture in my next post and Addiction's recent Idle thread).

RE: Upper ball joint Won't go back in!!!
Okay, so i'm going to bleed my coolant system, right? I get a gushing sound from the back of the motor. Turns out, there's a male metal hose end, that comes out of the metal bar on the back side of the japanese block that is attached to the thermostat (just behined the egr valve). The old american production block did not have this. I have no extra hoses and I have no place for this coolant to go. ----
Should I plug it????? What do I do!?!?!

Does the diagram here or in my next post for an '88 Civic cooling system help?
