i have a 99 civic ex and my transmission is shot and i need to have it rebuilt. anyone know of a good place to go to get it rebuilt or possibly a new one for cheap?

not gunna lie, i have seen it done wayyy too many times that someone gets a "rebuilt" transmission, but all the shop does is go to the junk yard, get a tranny, clean it up and spray paint it...

skip the middle man and go to the junkyard to get one instead of paying for a "rebuild"

Yeah especially if it's a manual just put a used one in. They last about forever unless abused.

its a manual, and yea im positive. my second gear pops out of gear when i coast around a turn in gear, and thats if i can get into gear. usually ill hold the clutch all the way in and ill have to slam the stick back into second just to get it into gear or else it just grinds away even more than it already is.

my tranny's messed up also, but its not grinding tho, its raddling, my friend saids that the raddling is coming from my tranny, not so sure but i just say what he say. lol. unless any one of u guys know what it could just be.

Check your exhaust heat shields, which are a common source for rattling noises.
