First, welcome to the forums!

As long as you aren't doing anything major to the engine, you'll be fine. Now, if you go with forced induction, you're going to want to build up the stock transmission or swap to a 5-speed.

To upgrade the auto transmission, you can replace the stock clutches. For a clutch kit for your car, it'll run you around $180 (Jegs.com).

I would swap a 5 speed in before doing anything at all. I dont really feel like im driving a car unless I can shift it myself. And manual's are much more fun to drive.

Thanks for the welcome. I was looking into swapping out to a manual, but I was told it was alot of work and it may not work out properly. Also thanks for the info on the jegs site!

Could I also look for a high performance torque converter?

yeah, I think that'd probably help. Honsetly, I don't think the 5-speed swap is that hard; I've heard it can be done in under a day. From what I've heard, the hardest part is wiring up the stuff that used to connect to the automatic shifter. Other than that, it's basically take the old transmission out and put the new one in.

Here's some conversion help links:
https://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_295187/tm.htm - wiring the stuff up
https://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_257645/tm.htm - if you read down the thread, it has a parts list
http://www.honda- tech.com/zerothread?id=1255332 - copy & paste this into your browser and remove the space... H-T shows up as "****" if you type it around here... site rivalry or something.

You don't need one. It's easiest to just swap out the ECU, but it'll run just fine with the auto ECU (It'll throw a Check Engine Light, but it still works). If you want to keep your stock (auto) ECU and not throw the CEL, try this link: http://hondaswap.com/~pills/autotomanual.html

If I wanted to do a turbo running at about a 6lb boost would that cause a problem on the stock auto transmission.?
