Default Too Much Play in Steering?

I hit a deer last night with my Civic 2004 EX. No damage to the body. The deer was not so fortunate. There is now, too much play with my steering wheel. Did I damage the rack and pinion; tie rod????? The alignment seems straight, oddly enough in that the Civic doesn’t drift. Is the damage jsut in my imagination?

jack up the front of the car and try to wiggle each wheel right to left. If shouldn't move. If it does than you've got a tie-rod problem
