timing tips anyone?

found the service plug. jumped it. tried to time car and now it barely starts. cant figure out what the deal is. im so depressed, im carrying it to a mechanic tomorrow. i suppose ive been defeated. this sucks...

Did you take your distributor off the engine? Cause if you did the thing that fits into the camshaft might be totally 180 degrees from where it should be. I've done it with one of my cars and it ran like crap/didn't run.

im a stoopid dummy. could i persuade u to come down with monies? lol i live prob 3hrs away! gonna resort to letting a buddy try. $80/hr for the honda guy is steep. idk how long it would take him, but @ least he knows what he is doing. id imagine average joe mechanic wouldnt even know to jump the service connector...

well im @ a loss. i have a huge shop with all kinds of tools, but my know how is lacking. did what my manual sed and.... sputter, sputter, sputter, die. id pay u if u came down, but id feel bad cuz its so far away! not feel bad to pay u, i mean feel bad for u to have to make such a long trip...

how long was it sitting b4 you tried timing and starting it?

EDIT: also make sure you dont have the timing 180 degrees off
when i did my mini me i thought i was dead on it turned out i was 180 off lol

did you unplug any of the wires on the intake manifold?? because 2 of the plugs are the same and can be crossed.

i wouldnt mind driving down there. i drive far alot. i put about 150k miles on my cars a year, i drive to florida and to new york every couple months. just think of it as a 2 car hcf meet ...lol. its only 2 hrs. i already live in the damn boondocks i have to drive 1hr just to get to the city so i can buy stuff from stores. i drive to stevenson alabama almost everyday. pm me with your address and we will work something out and ill come down there and help ya.
