Timing belt question
Hello,
This forum has already proven helpful after just one post! That is good to find. I have another question concerning the timing belt. I have a '95 Civic DX/LX (is that a DX or an LX? - who knows, the seller didn't and I can't figure where to find the truth). Anyway, I'm inquiring as to whether my car is the kind where if the timing belt busts I lose my entire engine or the kind where if it busts my car just stops working until fixed. I know that even the cars with engine timing that doesn't kill the engine if the belt goes can if the engine is gunked upvery much. Thanks for any knowledge on this,
Andy

RE: Timing belt question
I think in 95 a LX had power windows and power steering, the DX had neither. It would be the same engine though, 1.5 liter non-VTEC.
Change your timing belt now if you don't know how many miles are on it. As others said, driving until it breaks is very likely to cause major engine damage.
