A friend of a friend has an engine and trans from a prelude, only info. that i was given about it was it's a 22 w/vtech. But he wants to know what wire harness I have. I've got a 97 civic ex auto, and am not positive if it would even fit or what harness I have.

your talking about the H22a DOHC Vtec.
Your gonna need alot more than the engine and tranny, plus its not gonna be an easy swap.
Im pretty sure the harness will not work. Unless your getting an awesome deal on it, I wouldnt get it. Its a good motor, but its heavy, not too great with boost, and its a hassle to swap. Go with a b series

 

Appreciate it blackmetal ... I'm very noob to engine swaps, and unless he gave it to me, then it's a no deal.

I'm probably gonna be getting rid of my civic anyhow, or just have it as daily driver/back up. I'm just tired of everytime I turn look out my window I see another EK, and frankly, it's just annoying. At a local lot where a bunch of us can just hang out without getting told to move everynight, out of the average 25 cars about 10 of them are EK civics and at least 5 are integras.
