Sup fellas I did do a search on this and found several threads showing the EXACT same problem Im having with several identical setups but no one has posted what the fix was. I checked the plugs not black at all in fact they look a little lean. All new sensors no cel.... fuel filter is fine fuel pressure is fine just changed the oil timing is perfect. Here is the kicker....when I was throwing a cel for sensors and it was running limp I was getting 270 to a tank now that everything is cool Im getting like half that.....so its gotta be the vtec solenoid or a fuel pressure regulator problem right? It can be a tune problem I have had it looked at by several gurus who say its well tuned it has to be something specific I ve almost got this thing running perfect could someone post what there fix was before I go throwin more money at this thing

i have a 94 hb vx that gets 50mpg d15z1 and a 95 4dr with a 99 d16y7 that get 27 mpg.

did u check gap on plugs??
check for fuel leaks???
reset computer???

 

did you check the PCV valve?

 

dang 15mpg..... WTF are you pumpin out smoke out the tailpipe?

or how are you driving? all nuts...... all city driving..... worst i got in my 99civic was 19mpg but i was ******* the crap outta the car all week! if i took it easy on highway cruising i got 38mpg... so mainly it depends how you drive.
if youve been spinnen tires, taking off hard, running right up on stop lights till leting off the gas... i can see it being that bad!


but what size motor is it? vtec, no vtec.....its funny how a Z6 motor can get around 30HP more but kill milage by ruffly 10mpg..... from a non vtec motor.

 

well my 95 4dr has been getting way less mpg lately and couldnt figure it out til today when it died. lol i was stuck on road for 2 hrs. i found the problem and fixed it was my coil pack inside the dizzy. went out and now wow what a difference with a new 1 way better mpg and power. costed me 60$
