Default Suspension too low

Ok, so I got some KYB struts and lowering springs from my brother for free. So i stuck them on my car, looks great, real low. However, the ride is too low... the drivers side tire is rubbing over bumps and the passengers tire (both front) is rubbing and actually hitting the top of the fender wall, which is taking chunks of rubber out of my tire. I was going to just lower the fork down to the end of the strut, but found out the strut is slotted for that bolt on the fork. So now i am stuck... do i need to buy new springs?

new springs cold correct the issue. What kind of springs do you have now and what size rims and tires are you using?

my rims are 16", tires are 205/40/16, so that shouldnt be the problem.... i think what i'm going to do is get some coilovers for the front at least, maybe for the back too, and just adjust it enough so it doesnt rub anymore
