Sunroof Problems
On my '95 EX Coupe, I've noticed that the sunroof opens fine, but when I try to close it.. its like the motor is really weak.
It doesn't close fast and sometimes it will start closing, then stop.. and then it starts moving again.
So, today I just pushed the button while also forcing it closed with my hand.. is that bad?
Am I making it worse.
Is there a way I can kind of clean the track it moves on or invest in a new motor?

RE: Sunroof Problems
You know Jas, I have the same problem and I have a 5th gen too. I think it's when mine gets too hot that the motor doesn't work. I posted the same question on here about a month ago and I got one response of "it needs a new motor," which I could have figured out on my own.
I don't see anything wrong with "helping" it a little. At least yours will close. Mine got stuck open in the rain the other day.
Anybody know how to change a power sunroof motor?

RE: Sunroof Problems
you should have a Z shaped tool that fits into a hole in the roof over the back seat that will let you operate the roof manually. Just in case it does die in the rain.
Spray down the tracks with some Silicone lubricant. Some people also use white lithium grease spray but I prefer the silicone as it is a dry lubricant and doesn't attract and hold as much dirt

RE: Sunroof Problems
JUST A SUGGESTION!
I'm no expert but I would assume that the motor is 12 volts and run on reverse polarity to close.
It is possible that your sunroof problem is the motor. I would suggest isolating the wires that go to the sunroof motor and applying 12 volts and ground to verify that the motor is working properly. If it works in one direction, switch the wires to verify that it works in the other direction, fully closing and opening the sunroof. If the motor checks out okay, then you might have a problem with the relay. There are wiring schematics in Haynes, not sure what the part number is but I am sure you can get it from Honda... Somewhere to start. GOOD LUCK!
