Strange sound
I have a 2005 Honda Civic and just recently started having a strange sound which at first sounded like it was coming from the passenger wheel. Today it happened and it now sounds more center (behind stereo-dash) or glove box. It sounds similar to something scraping and it only happens on the freeway going about 65-75 mph. When I slow down it dissapears. I kind of thought it could be related to the bumps in the freeway at high speeds. Like something is bumping under the hood?? Or it may sound like something turning and scraping (wheel related)? It's under warranty though, so I could take it in. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this beforehand.
Thanks,
Karen

RE: Strange sound
I called the dealer and they said it sounds like the brakes are metal to metal. However, I brake fine and there's no sound when I brake. Also, I had the 30k service done 1 month ago and they said I had 50% pad left. So, I took it over to a mechanic I know to check the pads and he said it's not the pads, but most likely either a bearing or the ball joint. Both of which would be covered under warranty. So, I'm going to take it to the dealer. Thanks for the input.

RE: Strange sound
At 30,000 miles thats too new to a bearing or ball joints to go out not unless you drive on bad roads. But I had a 91 Accord that I bought new and CV joint went bad at 10,000 miles. I knew of three other new Accords at time and all had the same problem with same amount of mileage.
