starting problem
hello forum,
99 honda civic si
When i go to start my car it sounds like its trying to turn on (makes a whiring sound that is at first slow then speeds up) only to require one or two times of trying to start it before it finally starts.
once it is running everything is fine.
what could this be?

it was, but i filled it to half a tank. the problem is still present. the car is use to being run on little gas (i'm poor). also, the car wasn't driven for two months while i was away working. after that i did a nice 200 mile across state drive and then 200 back. everything seemed fine until a week later.
what are the possible problems i should look into?

perhaps, this is relevant.
two in a half months ago, the car wouldn't start without a jump. I got it jumped and drove it around to charge the battery. however, it continued to not start without a jump. i took it to autozone and they said my battery, and alternater were fine. no other problems registered. i noticed my cd player wasn't turning off so i assumed it was draining the battery. i unplugged it. after that no such problems, until now.
thank you for your help,
mushi
