Default Stalling

Hi - I'm new to this forum. I did a search for my problem but no luck.

I own a 1989 Acura Integra (appearently mechanically similar to a Civic). I've owned it since new. 186,000 miles.

In warm - hot weather, the car stalls at idle. In cool - cold weather, no problem.

Other than that, the car runs great. I was told that this might be the fuel pump relay (main relay?). Is this a
common problem? Is it likely the relay or something else?

Thanks!

Yes, it is fairly likely. I've had this happen to 3 of my Civics, so I would look into getting it replaced.

What does the fuel pump relay do? Like what is its mechanical function? I'm having fuel distribution problems, so I'm trying to take in as much info as I can on this stuff. Thanks!
