I have the same problem. I posted the other day but no replies yet. But I may have found a website with an answer.

http://www.geocities.com/myintegra96/srs.html

No guarantees, I have not had an opportunity to test it out yet. Actually, I'm in the process of buying a car with this same problem. Was told it came on after a bettery was changed.

Good Luck.

Just in case, try and keep away from the airbags when doing it.

heh, i dont think i would risk this, if you have a scanner you can reset it too, my friend used to have a scanner but it got stolen so i'm lookin around trying to find some1 who got it. i tried disconnecting the battery for more than 24 hours but it did not help. i might have to go to the mecanic adn pay him 30$ to reset it

its pretty ez to do if you have a scanner, not a regular scanner that reads engine codes but the one that does all sensor scan, it is able to reset the code.

Did you go to the dealer?

Are you willing to mention how much it cost?

went to the car stereo/alarm shop and they had a special tool to reset it. i tried it myself first with my scanner and it didnt work. they said honda srs system requires only a honda computer to reset the light. but i think what he did was the procedure mentioned above, he connected cables somewhere, turned the ignition on, shortedned the wires, did it again few times and the quilty turned off the ignition. the light dissapeared, this procedure cost me 20$. despite that its the same procedure mentioned above i would rather pay 20$ then risk my airbags

I tried this link on my 97 Civic, and it worked great. There is no way of setting off your airbags, you are simply completing the circuit with the jumper wire. It's very simple, but one other way of allowing the dealer to make money off you, the consumer.
