spring beside timing belt???
ok so me and my dad are replacing my head gasket and right as we were lifting it out there was this really hard like glue stuff and it was connected to this spring right beside the timing belt like half an inch...does anyone know what this is before we mess with it further????
ummm now that we looked at it it seems that glue looking stuff is actually the inside cam cover i believe and the engine got so hot that it melted it on that spring.

I'd put it together without the cover first, until you're sure the head gasket has fixed the problem and the engine isn't cracked or warped. Kind of pointless to spend money on what turns out to be a bad engine. Timing belt covers are mostly a cosmetic item unless you have the misfortune to have a stone or something come up and get caught in the belt.
