Like MK378 said.. it's not that difficult to take it apart, but for the first timer, it gona take you awhile to disassemble the casing and removing all the necessary nuts/bolts.

I did a DIY while back and it was posted, but somehow it got deleted from the forum. The only few pix I can find is below.

The mainshaft bearing is the one on the right of the red circle that attached to the casing, just replace that and you’ll be fine.

It takes me about 2 hours after the tranny is out, but then I rebuilt over 20 of them already so much easier for me.

The large bearing on the top of the input shaft (shaft on the right in the second picture) was the main problem on mine. In order to get the shafts out as shown, you will need to remove a few bolts that hold the shift forks (already removed in the pictures) in.

The transmission has no oil filter, so any grit that is left inside will go around and around and cause wear. Thus it is important to keep things very clean when working inside the transmission. Set up a clean work area (such as the cardboard shown) and before opening the case, wash the outside of the tranny as well as your hands and tools.

I put in the other transmission this weekend. The sounds are gone. It's sweet. It used to surge a little when I would start off or let off the gas and that is gone too. It shifts and drives amazing. Thanks for everybodys help.
