Ok I have no clue what can cause this but You know that loud long beep sound that is made when keys are out of the ignition and the door is open and the headlights are left on, Well it stopped doing that and plus when door is open my cabin lights dont light up, only when switch is set to On and not in the middle. So i dont know if the 2 are related to the same thing (problem). Possible fuse? Relay? sensor?

when you open then door if you look on the inside where the hinges join onto the car there should be a switch in there that is pressed in when the door is closed(you can also do it with your finger) it will turn the lights off as you press it

 

This happened to my 96 civic. Turned out to be a blown fuse.
There was one blown under the dash and one under the hood.
Not sure which one fixed it but it works now.

 

for 96-00 the door switch is on the back, where the door closes, mine was broken due to someone getting out of the back and stepping on it. so i just swaped the pass side witht he drivers. also, i think there pretty cheap, and super easy to put on. thats more than likley what happend, (door switch or whatever broke) but check your fuse's first, there going to be cheaper than a new switch.

 

Do the 93 EG modles have the "lights are on" beep when the door is open? I've never been able to figure that one out. I'm sure I've checked the fuses serval times and the dome light button works fine.

 

Which fuse would be best to check for that sorta thing? and i have a 2002 civic, and i cant find that switch your talking about.

 

Found the switch near the door. some how the button fell threw the door. was able to dig it out and place it back. thanks for all the help.
