Civic Si 00 you are a fag. Hatting because if we get 2 race I would smoke you like nothing...... 1. people that are way more knowledgeable about cars/motors etc and add performance products to their engines destroy their motors quite often... shi.t happens 2. taking care of your car doesn't necessarily mean that some freak accident won't happen 3. you know nothing about this kid and you are calling him retarded... and saying it to his dad, nonetheless 4. civic si's may be nice, but its not the best car in the world you just need to shutup and quit being a douche for no reason. there is no reason for you to flame someone asking for help. if that's what you are in to, then go join honda-tech and leave hcf. Plantman you can try www.junkyarddog.com and search for your son's motor. also, sometimes your local mechanic can find a block for cheaper than the local junkyards. i know after i bought the motor that i just put in my 03, a local mechanic found blocks with half the mileage of my new block for like $200 (i paid $700 for complete motor, trans, and ecu). my motor is definitely not as sought after as the b16a2, but its still possible that the mechanic can find a better deal than you can with all of his resources on parts. i hope your son has better luck and you guys get the car rolling again. |
RE: Son blew his engine.....
I appreciate the responses and attempt at advice.
He will be paying for the repairs, even if it has to be little by little. He is in college and only works part time, so I can't expect to get paid all at once. He still owes me about 800 from his last fiasco, which he has to pay me before he can think of getting his car back. He has almost that much saved up and I will be getting that today or Monday. I did not buy him the car, he bought it with money his grandmother had been saving up since he was young and he put in the rest. The old engine cracked a piston rod and the inner wall of the cylinder was all gouged up, so I ordered one from hmotorsonline which arrived in 2 days from California, pretty impressive. I was hoping it would get here next week. It's almost ready to go and should be done today. Cost me 995 for a motor with supposedly 40k miles on itplus 200 for shipping. Since he will not be getting the car back for awhile, I am thinking of putting it up for sale and start over with something else that isn't quite as tempting for theives, expensive to insure and a magnet for problems. BTW, the reason he blew the engine was no oil. Apparently, in his infinite wisdom, he didn't understand what those two marks on th dipstick were. Thanks \ |

oil starvation...yeah, pretty much the new engine was in order...

RE: Son blew his engine.....
Thanks for clearing that up. :) Good luck with the repairs. If you DO decide to sell it, it should be pretty easy to find a buyer.
