08 Civic Si

The "side airbag off" light came on and off again during Valentine's Day.

Has never happend before and hasn't happend since.

I had just bought a dozen roses for my fiance and they were in a glass vase full of water. That set up was in a cardboard box that was probably 8x8x8 inches.Could have not weighed more than 6lbs maybe. This was set down on my front passenger seat.

I was thinking the car thought it was a small child and starting turning off the side air bags???????????

 

it could be it, im not sure if civics are weight sensitive or if theres a laser

 

Well I know they are weight sensitive because when someone is sitting in the seat without the seatbelt on it chirps at you.. But it almost seemed like the car knew that there was someone or something small in the seat and turned off the side airbags...have to look at the manual I guess
