well like i said it had a refurb title on it. it had been in a front end collision by the first owner and totaled out.

i think the airbags would have gone out but the passenger side one was missing (you should be able to see the cut in dash in one of the pics) and im guessing the driver side didnt have one either.

also i was kinda screwed when buying it now that i think about it. if you look there is no foam behind the bumper its just a bumper.

the estimated repair bill was a little over $4000 i really wish i could repair it fun only 600 lol.

im gonna look around on ebay for parts and see what all i can find, the only part that i cant really do on my own is bend that frame back.

i think i may end up just biting it and finding a new one. unless anyone here wants to buy the parts from me

that won't cost 4k to fix.. you can do that yourself sure. look at cronics thread, and DIY's, not that much is even damaged.

Buy it back and repair it is what I would do.
But that's me.

i want to. the only thing is its under my father's name and i would have to convince him. he isnt to for it since its been in two totaling wrecks now and there is like no value to the car left.

how much do you think it would cost roughly to bend that bar back in place?

it would suck if i rebuilt it and i got hit again. i'd be screwed if that happened

Is it paid off? Can you at least attempt to fix the car cheaper than buying another used car? If there's a chance you can do it yourself, I'd do it.

Worst case: You pull everything apart yourself, tow it to a shop for the frame pull, and put the rest of it back together in your driveway or garage. Then you rattle can the needed paint. If you fail, you can still sell for parts.

yeah thats an option. it is paid off paid 5500 on the spot when i bought it.

i gonna go to a couple of repair shops in the next few days and ask about a frame pull see how much it'll be around.

yeah ive decided on just getting another one. even if i fix this one up its got no value so it wouldnt be worth while to do so.

but i hope that i can find another decent one. not much of a selection out here in knoxville. but thanks for the suggestions/advice guys.

i hope im not too late but you could part it out and get more than 1000 for the random spare parts you could actually make a grand or two but thats just my opinion

ya if you only have about 1K in parts into it i would just let it go. you could fix it yourself as long as there was no frame damage. only way to tell that is to pull the front bumepr cover off and look at the frame rails. if they are crushed id defiantly ditch it, but if they are straight down the sides of the engine bay then its a pretty easy fix. if no radiator fluid leaked out then it probably just damaged your ac condenser and didnt push the radiator hard enough to break it. or it might actually be damaged only way to tell is to make sure fluid level is up and let it idle for a while. hell i bought a brand new radiator for my old civic and it had a pin hole leak at the top that only leaken once it got warmed up.
but most front end accidents look alot worse than the really are! the front end was designed to give way to absorb the impact. my old 96dx looked horible but it was a very easy fix and drove great didnt even need the alignment really.
