should i buy back my wreck?
Hi all im new to the boards, but ive got a bit of a decision on my hands about a month ago i bought a used 02 civic ex coup 5spd manual and silver had all the bells and whistles (tint job, headers, aem intake, rims, and an amp stereo sub job). Well on my way to class on a rainy day 2-3 weeks ago im stopped waiting to get into the parking lot to the school and i get rear ended by a volks golf. He pushes me into an accord that had a bike rack and thats were all the real damage ends.
So anyways when i bought the car it had a referb title and im getting 3200 for the car and this is where my decision comes in. Do i buy back the wreck for 1000 and sell of the parts/try and get it repaired etc. or should i suck it up and go ahead and get a new car or better yet does anyone have any better suggestions?
i'm going to visit the wreck probably later today or tomorrow and ill post up some pics. the support bar behind the bumper got jammed up into the radiator which also got pushed back just a bit where the bike rack hit it. and i was very surprised that there was no radiator fluid leakage, but still sucks anyway you look at it.
anyways thanks for taken a look and hope i can get some help.

If the air bags didn't come out it sounds very fixable, at least to patch it up so you have something to drive even though it is dented up. See if you even have air bags, the last guy may have (illegally) put dummy covers in instead.
If you're not going to buy it back, you can strip it of all aftermarket parts that were not stock before giving it to the insurance company. Definitely keep your stereo and rims. Insurance only considers the car in stock condition unless you have added coverage of the extra stuff to the policy.

lol i think the airbags would have come out but i dont think any more were put in after the first wreck. the passenger side still has the cut from where the airbag deployed.
the only thing that really troubles me about driving it is that the radiator is all dented in even though its not leaking fluid.
yeah i will be taking off most if not all the aftermarket if i end up getting rid of it but so some the parts its a matter of having something to replace it with.

ok here i finally got some pictures in. but i found out that the repair shop i know and trust wont touch the car to fix it since its been totaled out twice now. so i guess im gonna have to bite it on this one
well here are the pics of the damage and the bit of aftermarket it had. i dont think i'll be able to remove the headers, rims, or aem intake since i dont have anything to replace them with and the rims the agency already took into account. but i am sending them the pictures of the parts and how much they cost online which comes out to roughly $600 more or less.
ok lots of pics

not very bad at all, new hook bumper, radiator and radiator support core. Doesnt look too bad but I cant see it in person. Also you dont even need new head lights.
I was in a similiar accident and fixed it for around $600 --> https://www.hondacivicforum.com/foru...ad.php?t=74473

That a tough call. It really depends if you really want to hunt down another Civic. I would let it go and buy another Civic. Even if you replace the parts, you still need to paint it. Maybe you could find another Civic with a blown motor for dirt cheap and swap your motor.
