Default should I amp my 6x9's or not?

I have 2 12" sony p5's and then since my car doesnt have 6x9's and I bought some on accident, so I'm going to install them on that panel above the back seat (just cutting some holes in and dropping them in).

Should I amp the 6x9's? and if so, should I buy a separate amp for my 6x9's than the one I'd be using for my subs or should I buy a 4 channel amp?

OR

Should I just use the wire from my rear speakers and run it back to the 6x9's? (I know I'd probably have to get some more speaker wire to do this)

i wouldn't bother, you're headunit should provide enough power for them alone

you don't really need to but if you have an amp laying around you could. Its going to take time to rewire your car. You still have stock tweeters so i wouldn't. you'll blow them.

i'm not amped and mine sound just fine. If you're really worried about it i guess you could, but just find a HU with high output. Mines like 50 watt x 4 and it sounds great (alpine)

I had 6x9's on a headunit and then decided to buy a cheap amp for them, it does make a big difference! Depends on the quality of the speakers though, my 6x9's put out a 450 watt max and are pretty good quality, so amping them made them sound quite a lot nicer. But you could run them off the head unit fine.

two 12's with a stock stereo... someone really likes bass.. =)

man it's really a matter of opinion, that car is your car and should sound the way you like and not what others say.

yeah you don't need to amp them, but if you did you'd have more punch n clarity plus most amps nowadays have frequency cut off points so u could cut the bass out of the 6x9's and it'll sound a whole lot better and louder=)

i agree with jdmitswapped. It will sound better and clearer. It is up 2 you on wheither you want it or not. but be careful when you are tuning it. Not to hurt your ears by cranking it up to loud while tuning
