Shot of steam, wierd sound 2009 Civic
A few days ago, I was in idle waiting at a drive thru and a loud sound like a sssssssssss was followed by a shot of steam near the driver hood side. This morning my car wouldnt start so I jumped it a for a few minutes and it started, but a few minutes after it was running, the same thing happened again. Its been 4k miles since my last oil change, is it simple over heating, am I low on fluids, someone told me to get radiator fluid. I never top fluids I usually get it done when I get the oil changed. Any idea whats wrong?

You need to check the coolant level immediately, don't drive again like it is as overheating will ruin your engine. Look over the radiator and all the hoses for evidence of leaks.
Also it is good practice to check the oil, etc. more frequently than just at oil changes. Some engines use a little oil normally and they will run out and be ruined if not kept topped up.
