Default Short Throw Shifters.....I Guess They're Pretty Cheap These Days!

I had a 95 Civic 5 years ago. I just bought a 94 last week. So it's been a while since i've looked at parts for these cars. It's eems like every short throw shifter i see on ebay is around $10 or less. I remember when they were $80-$100. I went through 2 of them on my old car. The **** would break off at the threads. Whether it was a name brand, like DC, or a cheapo one from Kragens. So i assume that everyone figured out that no matter who makes it, these things are CHEAP! I just wanna make sure before i buy one that i'm not throwing $20 away. Thanks.

The first one busted off right in my hand. Right where the threads started. I wasn't even shifting hard or anything like that. The second time, same thing. But it happened to the guy i sold the car to. And in the same way. That was the DC shifter. I noticed DC doesn't sell short shifters anymore. I think i paid $120 for that one. Looks like i'll wait it out.

when you say top busted off.. you mean just the **** or the actual shifter that attaches to your shift linkage broke in half?

I'm reffering to the shifter handle. Where the threads start so you can screw on the shift ****. So i could still shift gears, but couldn't put a new **** on cause there weren't anymore threads.
