Safe to raise rev limiter?

i think it will be alrite, how often do you race?

If you're not really worried about blowing an engine here and there, experiment.

About 23 events a year on average. I currently race my integra but for next year i may be switching to a 5th gen for a differant class, so thats why im trying to gather all the info thats possible before i jump in.
Well that wont really work seeing as it takes time to sort out a car suspension wise. i dont want to be hurting the engine while im trying to get the car set up right. Although i wouldnt mind if i blew an engine because there so cheap i still would rather not, at least at first while im setting up the car.

so about 2 events a month, i think it will be alright, just baby it all the times you are not racing it. honda engines can take a beating. i thought you were planning to race the car like that everyday.

Also fwiw the car will see some track days here and there i was just planning on shifting before limiter for those.
Edit: now that i think of it, seeing as i have herd a few differant answers on this, what is the factory rev limiter set at on the DX/LX (D15B7)?

i still think its going to be alright depending how long it stays in that higher rpm range. honda engines can take a beating. dont know to much about your engine but i still think it will be alright.
but i know my brothers civic has been raped and abused since 98 to 2009 when he finally sold it (d16y7), there was not a day when he wouldnt speed it and do ricer fly bys with it lol. he would stick it in neutral and rev till redline and lmao he wouldnt shift at low rpms always at the red line. poor car haha
the he got a rsx and totaled it, haha rsx vs Wall. now he has a acura cl type s

Here is a data page from this years nationals about a subaru in the same class i will be building for. Pretty compairable speed wise with the car i will be building. Note on that course with the size wheels i will be using i would only go over oem redline for ~2 sec twice on course. Some courses will be more demanding though.

on a d15b7 no its not safe to run any higher the engine will fail, i bet already it burns oil.
the engine wasnt designed for real high rpms, now if you get a vtec engine they are designed for higher rpms.
