rusted fuel lines

rusted fuel lines
I just discovered that my fuel lines under my car have rusted through and are spraying fuel when car is started (with nearly a full tank of gas). Will I have to drain it in order to replace them. Also, how hard is it to replace them?

RE: rusted fuel lines
I pulled the tank on my 90 civic recently, this is what I found.
The fuel lines coming from the tank went down the side to disconnects under a plastic cover. These line were not exposed to the elements, and were in good shape. You may be able to disconnect at the rear and not have to drain the tank. I would disconnect the line at the rear mount coupler, and see if it starts to siphon the gas out, if it does you need to find a plug or cap for the fuel line from the tank. A rubber generic plug or cap should work fine.
I don't know how the front end is set up, if you have a disconnect before you start up the firewall, it may be an easy job.My disconnectis up the firewall about half way, so not an easy, under the car job, butdo able.
