I searched arround but I couldn't find anything. I am mounting a train air horn in my civic and I am mounting the compressor in the trunk. I was wondering if there is any way to get the 3/8" hose out of trunk (like below the car so I can run it down the bottom or mount the horn in the rear) without having to cut a hole (for the hose to pass through).

Could you settle for something a bit easier? Wolo air horns are pretty loud, and do not require to pull a pipe all the way from the trunk...

 

No, I want this thing. It can't just run straight off a compressor, it needs an air tank too. I want that train sound. Besides I have already purchased the compressor/airtank combo. I just need the horn now which I am going to buy after Christmas.

you can run it though the body plugs underneath...

 

Yeah I found away. I looked under the carpet and behind that plastic piece and I found 2 little plastic plugs that lead into the bumper. They pop right out. Is that what the body plugs are? What are they for.


I have a '99 civic sedan

 

In general I would run the hose under the rear seat, then under the carpet either at the door or at the tunnel all the way to the firewall, and then find a plug in the firewall and put it through - assuming you are going to install horns under the hood.

But I do not know good your particular year and sedans in general, there may be better ways for your specific car.

 

Yeah I was thinking about doing something like that. I probably going to run it out the little plug holes in the trunk (thats where the compressor is) and since I don't have the horn yet I don't know exactly if It will fit under the hood cause its like 15" x 12" x18". So if I can't fit it I have to mount it on the frame in the rear like near the bumper. So I am going to run it out there probably. If I put it in the front I would just run the hose along the bottom and up into under the hood area. I'll keep your idea in mind though.

ive also wanted some for my vehicles when ever i get a air suspension setup...

and im preaty sure you can modify these horns to make them fit beter............

you should be able to remove the horns from the base/solinoid.... then simply route hoses from the base solinoid unit and then to the horns them self independently.... preaty easy! just get good enough hoses so they wont bust under the high pressure and be sure to seal all your conections with some type of thread sealer....


then you can put the horns where ever they can fit.LOL

the way i would personaly mount them is behind the bumper and firing out the lower portion with cuting holes in the lower underbody trim panel.....


either way... upload some audio files...... id like to hear them.... to me that seems preaty cheap for some train horns......
