RE: rev limit and max mph
I thought the y8 only revved to 6800rpm... the z6 revs to 7200.
And why on earth do you need to go faster than 112?
*edit: also, are you tryin to rev this high when the engine's cold? I know the z6 only revs to 6800 when the engine is cold, but once it gets up to normal temps it runs to 7200.

Follow up on what Reaper noted, is your engine warming up fully to normal temperature? You could have a defective thermostat or the wrong thermostat.
Is the CEL on? Basically any condition that turns the CEL on, and a few that don't, will put the ECU into "limp home" mode where the car still drives but performance is reduced. Use a scanner to check for any codes.
