Default Reusing head bolts

Can i reuse them? They dont look stretched out pitted or anything. I havent measured them yet though and the threads still look fine. I removed the head for an issue not related to over heating or a bad head gasket. I just dont want to spend 100 bucks on a set of them if i dont have too. Thanks

I have seen some people re-use the OEM head bolts without any problems. Others have re-used them and popped head gaskets almost immediately. I would suggest picking up a set of ARP head studs. They can be re-used. I have re-used mine about 5-6 times without any problems.

Are the oem head bolts TTY though? The torque specs if im not mistaken give you a number of ft/lbs instead of doing the 45 degree turns. Even if they arent TTY bolts they still recommend replacing them? Thanks

The ones in my car's D15B7 are stock that have been re-used once with no problem. Your experience may vary.

I was talking to a honda tech today and he told me reusing the bolts are fine as long as there isnt any visual damage. But the reusing of the head gasket.. Wow lol

i got a set sitting around off of my '00 civic LX D16Y7. I replaced them when i took the head off to have a valve job done. Started to throw them away but just put them in a box. I chose not to reused them due to the amount of work associated with removing the head. And yes i most definitely installed a new head gasket.
