Default removing air idle control valve and fluids leaking

hi,

i understand that coolant runs through the air idle control valve. if you want to clean it do you have to watch out for coolant leaking out of the valve? do you need to plug hoses when you take the valve off so coolant doesn't leak? are there any other fluids you need to watch for?

Yes, you will need to plug the lines as coolant will be in there. It is fine if it leaks out, it is not like it will begin to pour out or anything. No other fluids should be involved except coolant. I always just used a bolt to plug the line if I ever needed to take it off.

Default Plug & Play?

Is the IAC just plug in or do you need to tell the ECM anything?

You don't need to do any ECM setup to replace the valve. If you start the engine with the valve unplugged, a code will be set-- which should then be cleared to avoid confusion.

Default ebay

Should I trust a IAC from ebay for $50 when they are $180 at Autozone?
