I agree with Forty, there's no need to go that fast on the road. There are a number of factors that can cause an accident not all of them has to do with other cars. I seen a vid about a guy going fast and a deer just popped out from nowhere. Just be careful and always put your seatbelts on.

I agree you have to be safe, even in daily driving something can happen. Not always you, sometimes its the other fool who causes you a problem. But seeing that this is a tech question, we still need an answer.

It's electronic. You would have to mod your ECU, but I see no reason for it. To each his own, but I am more of an acceleration guy than a top speed guy.
Why dont' you take of the rev limiter too so you can redline at 9100rpms?
Btw- I don't think your car will go much faster than 125-130.

RE: remove the speed limiter
geez... we all know about speeding, but the guy just wants some help.
It's like sniper said. Its in the ECU. Basically when you get to a certain speed the ECU sends a signal that cuts the fuel to the motor. Whet you need to buy is a speed unlimiter which basically intercepts the signal, and the car doesnt know any better.
The speed limiter is there because your stock tires arent rated for the higher speeds. If you are on stock tires then I highly discourage this mod. If you have z rated tires then by all means... do it up!

maddawg, let me apologize for my fellow HCFers. I know you asked a simple question and then you get a few lectures about speeding, judged, and a bunch of flaming. That's not the HCF style.
Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to your question or I would help you out.
