Rear brake making a "knocking" noise..
Hello all! A little help required, I have a 96 civic 5 door (no flaming please ^_< Ive had her for 9 months and all has been peachy.. However now there is some kind of knocking or tapping noise coming from the rear left brake, its kinda like getting a coin and tapping it on a wooden desk... only happens when I depress the brake pedal, and stops immediately when the pedal is released.
The noise sounds like its in rythem (some kind of rotating part maybe?) and doesnt sound like a random beat. Going to have a look at it today and try and find any obvious signs, but I probably wont turn up much. Anyone had the same problem or have any ideas on what it could be?
(p.s its drum brakes not discy's)
TY in advance

Pull the wheel and drum off. Inspection of the brake components should reveal problem. Particularly look for a leaky wheel cylinder and brake pads contaminated with brake fluid.

when you get it apart ,if you dont see anything obvious, just clean everthing off with some brake cleaner, before you put it back , if the noise is still there, have the drums machined , there may be a hardspot on it
