mistake. the wire comes from the compressor. i still havent figured out where it goes and the hot weather is coming soon. it comes from the compressor and goes straight up near where the ac relays are. but i dont think is goes into the relays. might it be a ground wire. or something. if some1 can take a picture of the compressor from a top view so i can see where the wire should go can help me out alot. also. the compressor leaked out the refigerant when i put some in it. so i might need to change the compressor. should i by a new one or should i try a junk yard for a used one.

iight so i finally got a camera to take a pic of what im talking about. hopefully some1 can give me better advice.
this is a pic of the wire itself from where it starts.
this is a pic of the wire where it ends. i got no clue where it goes.

test your ground... I dont have a camera to take a pic of mine right now b/c I am at work... just jump a wire from your condensor to your chasis (ground) and see if that kicks the fan over... if that works just ground it, (temporary) once you do that then track the other wire down it has got to be there...I am almost willing to be that is a ground.
Also, you could be leaking refridgerant for several reasons
1) compressor not pumping correctly and building up too much pressure due to switch
2) bad compressor
3) freon overcharge
4) condensor fan not kicking over
most likely if it is leaking regardless of the reason why, your seals might be toast. But the problem is if you do not correct it, it might happen all over again even if you replace compressor... you need to troubleshoot the problem(s) before you make an assumption, 1st and foremost find out where that wire goes... get a manual and track it down in the schematic if you must
Edit: also I dont have your car so I cant take a pic, just realized that, but it looks very similar to mine...
Also if you must have your a/c compressor replaced, it needs to be evacuated and recharged correctly which requires special machinery to do... not recommended to do on your own. Take it to them to be evacuated, replace parts as needed and take it back for recharge...
1 more thing, they can also run a dye through it that will show leaks in the system as well, you may have more than you think...

im confused...condenser is the fan/ac radiator thing. and the compressor is the thing with the belt. if thats correct. then the black wire comes from the compressor. the fan does turn on when i hit the ac button. but the compressor wasnt kicking on. but it did turn on when i put direct power to it from the battery. i got a chilton and an online manual but nothing says anything about that wire.
i thought it was a ground also. but im still not sure. but ill take a pic of the compressor to show you where it is leaking from.

did you say that when you hook the loose wire from your compressor that the compressor kicks on? if that is the case then it is highly likely that it came undone from the harness around that area at some point, I would look at every single electrical connection around that area, it may be at a relay, you never know... it can be a pain but I am sure that it came undone somewhere over there, it HAD to
Also condenser looks very similar to radiator... do me a favor please and post pic of entire engine bay...

i looked at all the relays that are for the ac. and none had an empty slot for that wire. heres a pic of the compressor from where it was leaking. and ill get pics of the bay later. camera just died (what a b!tch)
but this is a pic of where the freon was leaking from..
ill get that bay pic tonight when i get new batteries for the camera.
and i do appreciate your help.
