quick timing question....(ive searched it)

Yes the plastic pointer points at the lone unlabeled mark. Sounds like you may be OK on cam timing. It just needs to be within one belt tooth of the perfect position, it is not possible to set it any closer than that.

yeah ill have to mess with it tomm cause its getting kinda late and my dad is tired of working on it cause we have been since about 4....im just not sure if its gonna go back one tooth or forward.Like i said before it was so damn close that one time to starting and then it just went back to cranking....still seems like im kinda flooding it still too,not sure about why still....maybe cause of the timing??

well we just got it to actually start but its not smooth....plus we turned it off and now it wont start again,i think its getting way too much fuel still so i dont know.

Due to many failed engine starts, the flooding may have thinned the oil with fuel, which could lower cylinder compression and contribute to a hard start problem. You may want to check the engine oil for the smell of gasoline and change the oil if necessary.

yeah we changed it a couple of days ago cause there was a strong smell of gas in the oil so we changed it....we havent changed the oil filter but we have a new one so i dont know if that would make a difference.

You really really should do a compression test next. Really. Just one bad cylinder will make it very hard to start. Rule that out.

Too much gas could be a sensor problem, especially the MAP sensor.

i might have to go buy one and try the compression tomm then....i was thinking maybe it could be the MAP sensor but a couple of ppl told me that since im getting fuel it couldnt be it????
