1996 HX...
Ok, so I know my shocks and struts are on their way out, so I'm thinking...might as well lower the car if I'm going to be putting a little money into it already.
I did my Jeep lift, so I'm thinking I can do the Civic lift. But just like the Jeep can only be raised so high before you run into problems - how low can the Civic be dropped before I run into significant problems? I know there is something about a camber adjustment kit - at what point do I have to install this?
I'd like to drop it 1-2" - are there any kits you recommend? I want something basic, something that will work well on a commuter car but nothing overkill.
Thanks in advance

When I bought my car, it had been lowered 3.5" . It was the worst, roughest ride you can imagine...I'm talking zero suspension. Raising the coilovers just a couple inches was a vast improvement. So if you're dropping it, anything beyond a 1.5" drop will sacrifice too much comfort for my liking.

Yeah, 1-1.5" is really all I'd want to go - would I still need a camber adjustment kit?
Will this mess w/ the shifter?
And does anybody have any recommendations on kits? I saw a coilover kit for $50/ a piece on ebay..."bombz?" - but you know how ebay products can be...

don't skimp on spending money on your suspension. a good set of springs like eibach or tien S-techs will set you back about 150-200 and get a nice set of shocks like tokicos. they are worth every penny. with 1.5' you don't NEED a camber kit, but it is always a good idea to get one because you are altering suspension geometry so it would help the ride a bit and save your tires. but regardless if you do or not get a good alignment done afterwards.
