Quality and reliability problems
Hi,
I’m a French engineer working for a vehicle equipment manufacturer. We have soon, some kind of “big meeting” on the Civic with Honda, in order to show them what we can offer like, lower cost redesign parts, new technology, etc…
I would like to know, what are the quality and reliability problems you’ve got onyour Civic ( if you can give me details ) ?
The goal of my question is to help me to target which part I have to focus on, so I could offer good solutions to Honda, in order for them to improve their Civic.
Many thanks
Apologise for my English.

RE: Quality and reliability problems
I have the 06 Civic Coupe.
I have not had any major problems with the car and it seems to be a nice car.
The only problem I have had with mine is the sun visors. I have replace them4times in the last year and a half.
Honda has admitted there was a problem with them and told me that they have improved them somehow.
What was happening is the sun visor is made out of plastic with a metel spring inside to hold the visor in place. When the car gets hot in the summer, the temp in the car can be 120 to 130 F degrees inside. The plastic gets hot and soft and when I pull the sunvisor down the spring pressure will pull the plastic apart and then they will just hang there and you can't push them up.
Other than that I have had no other problems with the car in almost 43,000 miles.
I know the Civic is not a luxury car, but seems to be built very well for the price and I haven't had any problems with it.
Sorry I can't be of much help.

RE: Quality and reliability problems
My 2007 Civic EX needs redesigned rear camber control arms. The stock rear tires were worn to 25% thread in 7000 miles. Also, when the rear suspension is challenged vertically the rear wheels toe in or toe out because of this faulty camber control arm, makes for dangerous handling on icy surfaces.
