Default Problems with my 2002 honda civic

Hello

I need some help.....I am having electrical problems with my 2002 Honda Civic LX.....First problem is my odometer reads all 8's and gas tank reads that it is full but I know it isn't....Second problem happened last night, my speedometer isn't working and I can't tell how fast I am going. Does anyone know the cause of these problems and how much it will cost to fix? I appreciate anyone's help!!!!

Have you run the self diagnosis test on the cluster?

I believe you're having the same problem as me... I'm taking mine back to the used car dealer I bought it from tonight to get it fixed. Here's what mine was doing and what I think it is...

I *hope* I found the issue. My A/C was working just fine yesterday... no 30 min shutoff and then on my way home at night all of a sudden all my gauges drop to 0 and my gauge lights go off, brake light gos on (brake is off), and driver side power locks don't work. The lights by the radio that are supposed to go bright or on when the lights are on went out or dim. Did some research and it looks like this is the multiplex control unit located in the dashboard fuse box. If spending 300 for a shop to do it or like 100 for me to do it will fix all of these problems that wouldn't be too bad.
The multiplex control unit controls:

climate
cluster gauges, lighting
power locks
Horn
And some other stuff....

But the mileage reading 888 happened to me too. Check this out. It should be like $100 for the multiplex as long as you're willing to replace it yourself. Make sure you get either a coupe or sedan version as they don't intermingle. If you go to the 7th gen portion on civicforums.com and do a search you'll see a lot.
