Problem with Overdrive/Heater???
Ok its COLLLLLLDDDD in Illinois.
Well today I am cruising down I80 and the temp guage says a little before halfway on the guage. Now the car starts slipping in and out of overdrive. Now I remember somebody here saying overdrive is controlled by the temp of the engine. Is my temp too low or is this some other problem. Now the kicker so I am thinking well if I turn off the heater will it go back into overdrive. Well I started sliding the lever on and off and overdrive was in and out. So what can be the problem. Any help would be very appreciative. Thanks,

warm car up and while car is runing check transmission fluid. if u want to get heat put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator to block cold air. this works great.

Is the Check Engine Light (CEL) ON? If so, you might want to determine whether code 19 is stored in the ECU (A problem in the Lock-up Control Solenoid Valve A or B circuit). The procedure for retrieving a CEL code is described here:
