Gotta question. Im not sure what the problem is with my 2000 honda civic SI.

It's like my exhaust is clogged up, no power, and my check engine light is blinking on and off constantly.

A while back my exhaust was blowing out chucks out of my cat. and was super loud, After it blew out the chunk it ran fine, but now i have a bigger problem which i stated up above.

If you have any clue what this might be and what might be the reason for the check engine light to be flickering on and off inform me or PM me about it.

Take the muffler off and see if it runs better. If yes, replace the chunk blowing muffler. If no, take off your catalytic converter and see if it's melted down inside. You didn't buy one of those el cheapo eBay exhausts did you?

 

Does your light blink for about tweenty seconds and then stay on and your rpm gauge stop working??

 

when was the last time u did an 3 stage or 3step engine flush.....

 

Why don't you read the code and see why your check engine light is coming on?
or if you don't know how to do it, take it to a shop

until you have the code, we can't do anything to help you

 

ps. the flashing CEL usually means STOP DRIVING NOW because something is seriously wrong

how long have you been driving around like this?

 

My money is on cat.

Is it blinking like a warning signal or on and off as in intermittently?

 

i've never figured out why peopledon't realize this if they know what a cel is.

 

blinking MIL aka CEL means the engine is misfiring

 

haha my bad yall..this was a long time ago post..and yeah i figured it out after posting it. Actually somehow the plugs were full of water and was making the engine be gay. So I got all that cleaned up and put in new plugs and sparkplugs and boom bodda bing it was fine..but that SI is sold..long gone.
