well i just got this hionda civic si its a 2000.
completely sock besides cat delete and straight piped(i dont really like)
and a full cold air intake system.
when i got it it ran and drove great so i traded it for my 94 s10 ss.
te car is beautful.
drove the car everywhere never got over 3500 in rpms.
well i started it to show a friend and next thing you know its developed a tick. not a knock a tick!
i had it re times cuse the previous owner did the timing belt and in which it did not help. then went to a 10w 40 motor oil it took some tick away but not much!
i really need help cause im heartbroken cause ive wanted one of these cars ever since i was little.
could it be a bent valve???
oh and when we did the timing we did a compression check an everthing was ok.
but when we cranked it over and stared it without the valve cover is seemes as the oil wasnt getting to the rear cam.?
please help!!

 

Did you check valve lash?

I would not recommend using 10w40. My 00 si did not like it.
