P1129 "MAP higher than expected." 1997 LX.
Ahoy gents..
Getting a code for P1129 "Map higher than expected."
Just replaced my IACV, TB, TPS, PCV, Exhaust Manifold (was cracked), Complete tune up with Distributor, NGK Iridiums, plug wires, valve cover gasket and plug grommets.
Did this to rid myself of a nasty surging idle..
along with this code... I'm running rich, slightly expelling a black smoke, and intermittently the car will invert power without my foot leaving the gas pedal.. Seemingly at first, I thought it might have been trash in the fuel line... so I seafoamed my crankcase and gas tank, ran 0w30 synthetic, and running 93 octane to help clean out my fuel line..
Was on IH-10 doing about 75... hit my cruise button, and the CEL came on (P1129)... also, cruise doesn't work. =/
My car sat for about 8 months... work, school and fiance' got the best of me while I saved up a little to pour money into the honda..
Any ideas? I mean... I could start by replacing my MAP... but I just spent loads of cash on a Trial and Error adventure, not looking to start another one. lol.
