Default overheating

My son has a 95 civic that has started overheating. He changed the thermostat, but it is still overheating. The heater also was not putting out hot air, he cleaned the heater core and this helped. I have not had time to check it out and intend to this weekend. Never worked on a Honda, any ideas where i need to start, or what it may be?

bleed th ecoolant. hondas will overheat with just a few small bubbles in the system. plus, check the coolant level every time before you drive it (when its cool) and add as necessary. otherwise, get a flush and fill done. it sounds like low coolant or blockage.
