Default over heating problem.

I have a 2000 civic ex auto tranny, and i have had major problems with it over heating and trashing the head gasket, the first time around i replaced it and filled with coolant and water, but i started to notice it would bubble the water out the reservoir on normal usage, it would not run hot thought, until it ran out of water and trashed this gasket too, so my question is why would the coolant bubble like if it was over heating, and help is appreciated.

Did you jack the front of the car up so the Rad was above the motor and burp the system?

Do you have oil in the coolant? Or vice versa? White smoke coming out of the exhaust? Leaking coolant anywhere? When you are bleeding the coolant system, do bubbles continually come through? Is the lower hose getting warm when the car is overheating? Is the fan coming on? When both the headgaskets went, how long was the car overheating before shutting the engine off? Did you have the head checked and/or decked?

Sorry for all the random questions, but it will help me (at least) figure out exactly whats going on.

Well, continuous bubbles coming out when bleeding the system means a blown HG. If you keep blowing head gaskets, I would assume that the head is "warp" and needs to be taken to a machine shop to be decked.

Also, if you re-torqued OEM head studs, that may be your problem as head studs are technically stretched to reach the desired torque. I recommend replacing them, or go for a set of ARPs. You can re-use them numerous times. I have "re-used" my set about 7-8 times with no problems and they are only about $100.

I am not 100% on if you absolutely have to or not to be honest. I upgraded mine since I knew the head was going to be going on and off frequently.

Get a OEM Honda headgasket. Either at the dealership, or at www.hondapartsdeals.com.
