Default Over Heating and cant figure it out starting to make me mad

Hi i have a 94 civic lx auto. Here is my problem my car started overheating so i thought it was my t-stat so i changed it and still over heating i noticed when im idling the temp gauge goes up and when i start driving it goes down. Second thing i noticed is the resivour is overflowing it looks like it the coolant isnt circulating. I was thinking there might be a block somewhere stopping the circulation. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

Overheating primarily when sitting still is often because the radiator fan doesn't work. Unplug the fan switch on the thermostat housing and jump it. The fan should now start immediately when you turn the key on. If it doesn't, check the fuse, motor, and relay. Test drive with fan running all the time.

take your thermostat out and see if that helps. only thing its used for is to heat up your car anyways
