no loss of coolant. t-stats havent been changed in years im sure. dont see the need to bleed the cooling system since i havent drained it or had to add any coolant????. side note drove car all last summer no issues... cooling wise anyway. just a question dont the t-stats fail open?

Thermostats can get stuck open or closed. It's such an inexpensive part. Just replace it. Afterward, bleed the cooling system. You should also consider draining the coolant and replacing it with fresh premixed 50:50.
