Oil Pressure Gauge
Ok I have an auto meter pro lite gauge i bought not mechanical and I need to know what parts I need to make it work. Part numbers? Manufatures? I have power going to it and a good ground I just need to know what i need to hook it up so it works. Could I splice into the oil pressure switch or what?

RE: Oil Pressure Gauge
You need to install the sending unit on the engine. If you only have the gauge head you need to buy a compatible sending unit. Once you have a sending unit, simply unscrew the oil pressure switch and screw the sending unit into the engine. These are pipe threads so you should use pipe sealer on it. Then run a wire from the sender to the gauge head.
A slightly more advanced installation would use a pipe tee fitting to hook up both the sending unit and the original pressure switch to the port on the engine. This would keep the light on the dashboard working as a backup.
Edit to add: Use only a TINY AMOUNT of pipe sealer, up high on the threads. You don't want that stuff getting into your bearings, etc..
