oil pan gasket. im removing header
2000 civic ex, automatic tranny.
Im changing my oil pan gasket. this is the problem, the lower part of the header and tranny mount are in the way. I can not get to the oil pan bolts (the last 2 on the passenger side) unless i take out the lower header and tranny mount.
i have 2hp 33gal Craftman compressor+air tool @ 90PSI. +10W40 (alot) but the rusted bolts (3) wont come out. WHAT SHOULD I do?
the rest out the bolts are out

the one (3 of them) holding the header and the lower header part.
I see in your PHOTO GALLARY, you remove the whole thing down. smart.
you took your pic and marked the bolt position.

RE: oil pan gasket. im removing header
yeah, I was going to suggest that, it's the easy way to to it. I tried taking the whole header out as one piece and it was near impossible with the A/C in the way.
can the car still run right now? if so, start it and let it run for a while so it gets hot. when it's hot, spray PB Blaster (or another penetrating oil) on the stuck bolts. Let it soak in for a while.
Also, use a 6 point socket, NOT a 12 point. That will give you a better grip, and it will keep you from rounding off the bolts
good luck

Are you using a 6 point socket?
Are you using a 6 point socket?
with the ratchet i use 12 pts. I guess i need to buy another 6 pts 14mm for the ratchet
