Well then your statement, " I don't get it, why does it say SOHC then Non-vtec in the description. I thought the SOHC was vtec? " confuses me.
This question of yours would lead me to believe that either your motor is not SOHC, is vtec. Either way, it leads me to believe that the motor you saw in the link does not match your own.

regardless if you swapped the engine with a y8 your still not needing the mini-me swap stuff. just buy the d16y7 engine block and rebuild. and yeah its plug and fit components since it's the same car.

Yeah that post made completely no sense. I wasn't exactly sure what vtec was. I always saw SOHC vtec or DOHC vtec in like descriptions for things, so that's what I thought made it a vtec. But you're right. I have a d16y7 SOHC no vtec motor.

To find more on Vtech = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VTEC.
Or, https://www.hondacivicforum.com/foru...ead.php?t=7777
Both will make you understand it better than one of us trying to explain it.
And all SOHC just means Single over head cam, and DOHC is dual over head cam ( if you didn't know ).
