Question New Motor, Won't start a second time...

Hey everyone! My brother in law has a 1997 Civic with the D16Y7 that was recently replaced with a used motor from another 1997 Civic. When they first swapped the motor the car ran fine the first time they started it, ran for 15 minutes, then shut it off. When they tried to start it 5 minutes later all that happened was when the key is in the "On" position there was a continuous clicking from glove box area and when the key was moved to the "Start" position the clicking stopped but nothing happened, no cranking, no fuel pump, nothing.

I've been tasked with trying to get this car running, and would like some suggestions on where to start. So far I'm set to replace the aftermarket headers and downpipe with stock parts (and O2 sensors since they were deleted(I know this won't solve the problem other then the computer complaining about no O2 sensors)) and have a new computer on order (previous owner said they "flashed" the old one, whatever that means) along with adding a new engine ground strap. Anything else I should look at or attack while I've got it apart?

This sounds like a simple case of insufficient power from the battery. Check for bad connections at the battery or grounds, run down battery, defective battery, fuses and connections in the underhood fuse box. Take a voltmeter and go around the circuit to see where voltage is being lost.

I agree. Consider a dead battery first.

+1 on the battery, and also the cables (especially the negative grounds, but you sound like you've already got that covered in your plans)
