Thorw a gasket on it !!! While ur at it make sure they send the head out to a machine shop to have it checked, they will be abile to make sure the head is in good shape, usually costs about $100 for a good machine shop to do a head check, clean it and deck it so there's no warpage. If its a good mechanic they will replace the water pump and timing belt since they are in there. I wouldn't bother doing a compression test, with a blown head gasket it would be a waste of time. If they say you need a new head hit me up i got one sitting around in the back room some where, hell for that fact a whole engine somewhere lol. If ur worried about the cylinder walls don't be most Honda engines arn't even broken it at that milage, they still have the cross thatching on cylinder walls.
Best of luck to you and ur car.

Well if the garages you took it to determined that it was a bad head gasket how did they do that ? They should have used a block check fluid that changes color. It looks like a turkey baister, you put fluid in it (blue)then suck air from the radiator fill neck while the car is running. If you have a bad head gasket or crack in the engine it would turn yellow or a little greenish (depends on the fluid used). The fluid has a chemical reaction to unburnt gas (hydrocarbons) that turn the color, only problem is some idiots suck in antifreese which is ...... green that changes the color, if that happens you have to empty the fluid and do the test again, oh yeah bye the way you have to have the engine running and hot before you can test anything.
Hope that helps ya, later.

hyrdro carbons arent visible by eye if i look in the resovoir rite??? also if i had a gasket leak or a blown gasket, wouldnt i have blue or white smoke form the exhaust, and wouldnt i have antifreeze mixed with oil in my resovoir and antifreeze mixed with my motor oil?

No you can't see HC's with the naked eye. The head gasket leak you have sounds like its not that big yet if ur only getting this at around 70mph so no you might not see any cross contamination of fluid at this time or smoke coming out. Some times even with a big leak the only time you would get smoke is on first start in the morning. The test i was talking about, you have to take the feums from the radiator, not from the res botle that wont work right. What state are you in, im about ready to tell u to bring this thing to my shop and check it myself lol.
